Ю
The Ю ( lowercase ю ) is a letter of the Cyrillic alphabet , in the Russian alphabet at the 32nd position. The letter generally stands for the sound / ju /, but can also be pronounced / u / in places, which occurs after a palatalized consonant.
In addition to the letter Ю, which appeared in early Slavic texts, one can also discover the mirrored letter OI. Probably the last variant is derived from the two Greek letters omicron and iota .
