A161 (Russia)

The A161 is a federal trunk road in the Caucasian Republic of North Ossetia-Alania in Russia . It extends the branch route of the R217 Kawkas from Beslan to Vladikavkas in the direction of the state border with Georgia at Nizhny Lars . The road is part of the European route 117 and continues on the Georgian side as S3 in the direction of Tbilisi .

The street was given the number A161 in 2010. Before that, it was numbered A301. The section from Beslan to Vladivostok used to belong to what was then the A301, but has been a branch of the then M29 since the 1990s, and R217 since 2010.
