A180 in Russia's trunk road network |
The A180 "Narwa" is a Russian trunk road. It leads from St. Petersburg in a westerly direction to Ivangorod on the border with Estonia . Until 1991 it connected what was then Leningrad with the capital of what was then the Estonian Soviet Republic , Tallinn . It is part of Europastraße 20 . Its nickname "Narva" comes from the Estonian city of Narva , which lies opposite Ivangorod on the other side of the border or the Narva River . Until 2010 the road was designated as the M11 main road, but was downgraded to the A180. The M11 is a motorway under construction between Moscow and St. Petersburg.
