Previously, it was number A165 , which was newly assigned to a road in a completely different part of Russia: the Lermontov - Cherkessk connection in the North Caucasus , which was previously number A156. A road in Astrakhan Oblast was designated as A340 until 2010 , which connects Astrakhan with the border with Kazakhstan and ran to Aktyubinsk (today Aqtöbe ) during the Soviet period (today Kazakh A27 ).
