The A165 is a federal trunk road in Russia . It connects the city of Lermontov in the Stavropol region in the North Caucasus with the capital of the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia Cherkessk .
The road was given the number A165 in 2010. Before that, it had the number A156, which was assigned to a trunk road in the Karachay-Cherkessia Republic in 2010. The number A165 carried a street in Siberia until 2010 , which today is numbered A340 .
