Alex Wall (born November 1, 1990 in St. John's , Newfoundland ) is a Canadian ice hockey player who has been under contract with the Vienna Capitals in the Erste Bank Ice Hockey League since June 2018 .
Career
Wall began his career in the Canadian junior league Ligue de hockey junior majeur du Québec with the St. John's Fog Devils . In the summer of 2008, he switched to the Club de hockey junior de Montréal , before he was transferred to the Moncton Wildcats at the end of the 2009/10 season , and won with them the Coupe du Président , the championship of the LHJMQ.
As early as the next summer, he moved again, to the Remparts de Québec , where he was appointed assistant captain. Despite good performance, he was not drawn in the NHL Entry Draft and then moved to the Canadian University League .
There he played three years for the University of Prince Edward Island and two years for the University of New Brunswick . After five years in the so-called USports , the change to the ECHL to the Adirondack Thunder took place . There he was the best defender on points and then had a brief stint in the American Hockey League , with the Utica Comets .
In the summer of 2017, he moved to Norway to join Frisk Asker . Here he convinced with his speed and his mastery of the puck. For the 2018/19 season he moved to Austria to the Vienna Capitals .
International
With the Canadian student selection , he took part in the 2013 Winter Universiade in Trentino and won the gold medal there with the team.
