Career
After two seasons in the United States Hockey League , Loney played four years for the University of Denver .
After none of the 30 NHL teams decided to draft Loney , he signed a try-out contract with the Norfolk Admirals in the American Hockey League during the 2014/15 season . After four points in five games, his contract was not extended for the coming season and Loney moved to the Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins , the farm team of the Pittsburgh Penguins . Here, too, Loney could not convince, then he switched to the ECHL to the Wheeling Nailers during the season .
For the 2016/17 season he signed with the Adirondack Thunder , which he left after 36 games for the AHL. Four games for the Albany Devils followed 28 games for the Chicago Wolves .
For the 2017/18 season , the Syracuse Crunch , the Tampa Bay Lightning farm team , signed up. After eight games he was sent back to the ECHL. Again he was on the ice for the Adirondack Thunder. After 32 games he was traded from the Syracuse Crunch to the Bakersfield Condors .
After five years as a professional in North America, Loney moved to Europe for the first time in the 2018/19 season . The Graz99ers from the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga signed the US-American. As a top scorer, he left the Graz team for Vienna the following season .
