Aljaksej Schamarau ( Belarusian Аляксей Шамараў , Russian Алексей Николаевич Шемаров , Alexei Nikolayevich Schemarow * 16th September 1982 in Kaliningrad , Russian SFSR , USSR ) is a Belarusian , formerly of Russia -start, Ringer . He became world heavyweight champion in free style in 2011 .
Career
Aljaksej Schamarau grew up in Russia, started wrestling in 1999 and started for a wrestling club in Kaliningrad until 2008. He has been working for Belarus since 2009. Since then he has been trained by his older brother Alexander Schemarov. The 1.88 meter tall athlete went to the light heavyweight division until 2006 and has been competing in the heavyweight division since 2007. During his time with the Russian Wrestling Federation, he took part in some very important international wrestling tournaments, but was not used in any international championships. In 2008 he was Russian runner-up behind Bakhtiyar Akhmedov , but ahead of Bilyal Machov . At the moment, wrestling is also his job. Aljaksej Schamarau is a very agile wrestler who, with a body weight of 115 kg, does not fully exhaust the permissible weight of 120 kg.
His first participation in an international championship was then at the 2009 World Championships in Herning / Denmark for Belarus. He won there over the Chinese Shitao Song, but lost his next fight against Tervel Dlagnev from the United States and finished 10th. He then won his first medal at the 2010 European Championships in Baku . He defeated there Əli İsayev , Azerbaijan and Dániel Ligeti from Hungary , but lost to Biljal Machow. In the battle for the bronze medal , he defeated Bartłomiej Bartnicki from Poland on points. At this year's World Cup in Moscow , he first defeated the strong Turkish Fatih Çakıroğlu , but then lost to Olympic champion Artur Taymazov from Uzbekistan . In the consolation round he came to a victory over Wadym Tassoew , Ukraine , but after another defeat against Əli İsayev he was eliminated and came in 11th place.
2011 was a very successful year for Aljaksej Schamarau. At the European Championships in Dortmund he fought his way into the final with victories over Ioannis Arzoumanidis, Greece , Simas Asačiovas, Lithuania and Camaləddin Məhəmmədov from Azerbaijan, in which he lost to Fatih Çakıorğlu just after points (1: 2 rounds, 3: 3 points). He achieved great success at the World Cup in Istanbul . He won there over Nick Matuhin , Germany (2: 0 rounds, 3: 0, 3: 2 points), Fatih Çakıroğlu, Dawit Modsmanashvili , the Georgian who was allowed to start again after a two-year doping ban, Tervel Dlagnev and in the final also over Biljal Machow (2 : 0 laps, 2: 0 points) and became world champion.
At the 2012 Olympic Games in London , his participation was not crowned with success. Aljaksej Schamarau won his first fight there against the certainly not bad Dániel Ligeti, but already lost his next fight against Tervel Dlagnev. Since he did not reach the final, he could not continue in the consolation round and only finished 8th.
