Anton Bucheli

Anton "Toni" Bucheli (born September 14, 1929 ) is a former Swiss football referee from Lucerne .

Career

Bucheli was an active referee from 1951 to 1975. In 1962 he was promoted to FIFA referee and was in charge of a. a. the replay of the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup between Chelsea FC and Real Madrid on May 21, 1971 in Athens . In total, Bucheli directed around 1200 games.

After his active career, Bucheli worked as an instructor and trainer in Africa and Asia.

Private

Bucheli is a trained machine mechanic and worked as an insurance agent during his referee career.

Bucheli is the father of two sons and two daughters.
