Franz Wöhrer (born June 5, 1939 ) is a former football referee for the Austrian Football Association .

Since 1957 he has been a referee, his main profession as a teacher , he reached the top division in Austria , League A , in 1964 and headed games at this level until 1987. He was a FIFA referee on the international list for the Austrian Football Association from 1969 active until 1987. He was in charge of more than 300 games in the Austrian Bundesliga and the second leg of the SK Sturm Graz cup final against FC Wacker Innsbruck (1915) (2-0). 160 international appearances, 75 of them in the European club cup competitions, prove his internationally successful career.

On May 2, 1986, he headed the final for the European Cup Winners' Cup between Dinamo Kiev and Atlético Madrid (3-0), on December 13, 1987 in the National Stadium in Tokyo, the final for the Intercontinental Cup between FC Porto ( Portugal ) and the CA Peñarol ( Uruguay ), which ended 2: 1.
