Mark Clattenburg
Mark Clattenburg (born March 13, 1975 in Consett , County Durham ) is an English football referee .
Career
He made his league debut on August 21, 2004 and has been a FIFA referee since 2006 . On March 13, 2012, he was in charge of the Champions League second leg between Bayern Munich and FC Basel . FIFA nominated him for the 2012 Olympic Games in his home country. There he was selected to lead the final between Brazil and Mexico. On May 1, 2014, Clattenburg made a first in the UEFA Europa League match between Juventus Turin and Benfica Lisbon , when he sent two previously substituted players Mirko Vučinić and Lazar Marković with a red card from the bench into the dressing room.
On May 28, 2016, Clattenburg chaired the final of the UEFA Champions League between Real Madrid and Atlético Madrid .
In the same year he was named by UEFA as referee for the European Football Championship 2016 in France . There he initially directed three games before he was also nominated to lead the final between Portugal and hosts France .
On February 16, 2017, Clattenburg's move to the Saudi Arabian Football Association was announced, where he will take over from Howard Webb as head of the referee committee and also play in the Saudi Professional League and King Cup .
