John Mowat

John Alexander "Jack" Mowat (born April 1, 1908 ; † unknown) was a Scottish football referee .

Mowat was a referee in the Scottish top division between 1946 and 1960. Within his home association, he was also used several times as a referee in the final of the national cup competition, seven finals were under his supervision. In addition, he also whistled games on an international level. At the 1959/60 European Cup he was in charge of the final, and at the World Cup two years earlier he was both referee and assistant referee at various games.

In his honor, the Scottish Football Association has awarded the "Jack Mowat Trophy" to the referee of the cup final every year since 1991.
