The BRIT Awards 2021 were presented on May 11, 2021 at The O2 in London . The award ceremony, originally scheduled for February 2021, has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic . It was the first major indoor live music event to take place in the UK in over a year. At the event, which was carried out as part of a COVID-19 test program without masks and without social distancing , around 2,500 spectators from systemically relevant professions as well as 1,500 musicians and their relatives were present. All visitors had to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test .

The award was the fourth consecutive year of Jack Whitehall moderated and on May 11, 2021 21:00 to 23:15 ( GMT ) live on ITV broadcast and in a YouTube - Live Stream transmitted.

The nominations for the Rising Star Award were announced on March 11, 2021 and the winner on March 19, 2021.

The Global Icon Award was given to the American singer Taylor Swift “in recognition of her immense influence on music around the world and her incredible repertoire and successes to date” . She is the first female and the first non-British winner in this category at the same time.
