history
The village, called Bialygrond after 1871 and Bialygrund after 1876 , was founded in 1788: On February 24th of that year, 13 owners were given land here with casket rights to form a village. The development, however, was very slow due to the boggy soil.
In 1874 the rural community of Bialygrund was incorporated into the newly established district of Wilhelmsthal ( Pużary in Polish ) in the East Prussian district of Ortelsburg . The number of inhabitants of Bialy Grund was 280 in 1910, 245 in 1933. Based on the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , the population voted in the referendums in East and West Prussia on July 11, 1920 on the continued state membership in East Prussia (and thus to Germany) or the connection to Poland. In Bialygrund, 205 residents voted to remain with East Prussia, while Poland did not vote.
For political and ideological reasons to defend against foreign-sounding place names, Bialy Grund was renamed "Weißengrund" on March 8, 1934. The population decreased to 220 by 1939.
In war-induced White Foundation in 1945 came up with the whole southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Biały Grunt".
