history

The foundation Jeromins took place on 26 February 1788. At the time, received Michael Jeromin and four Eigenkätner - previously settled on Scheffel places - lands for "system of a regular village".

In 1874 the rural community of Jeromin was incorporated into the newly established district of Wilhelmsthal ( Pużary in Polish ) in the East Prussian district of Ortelsburg . The number of inhabitants was 91 in 1910, 65 in 1933 and 61 in 1939.

Due to the provisions of the Versailles Treaty , the population voted in the referendums in East and West Prussia on July 11, 1920 on whether they would continue to belong to East Prussia (and thus Germany) or join Poland. In Jeromin, 72 residents voted to remain with East Prussia, Poland did not cast any votes.

With the whole of southern East Prussia , Jeromin was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war and received the Polish form of the name "Jerominy". With the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ), the village is now part of the rural community Świętajno (Schwentainen , 1938 to 1945 Altkirchen (Eastern Pr.) ). In 2011 Jerominy had 71 inhabitants.
