Bindal is a municipality in the Norwegian province of Nordland . The center of the municipality is Terråk, about 130 kilometers by road north of the city of Namsos .

The municipality has an area of ​​1264 km². The number of inhabitants is 1426 people (as of February 27, 2020), with about 650 people living in Terråk. The first post office in Northern Norway was opened in Terråk in 1804.

Economically, the municipality is shaped by agriculture and forestry. The largest company, Bindalsbruket, employs 130 people and is one of Norway's largest door manufacturers.
