The Diocese of San Marcos de Arica ( Latin Dioecesis Aricensis , Spanish diócesis de San Marcos de Arica ) is in Chile located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Arica .
It was detached from the diocese of Iquique on February 17, 1959 and established as a territorial prelature . On August 29, 1986, the territorial prelature Arica was raised to the diocese.
The diocese of San Marcos de Arica belongs to the ecclesiastical province of Antofagasta .
