geography

Bloaschütz is located about five kilometers west of Bautzen city center and consists of two parts, an older hamlet in the south and the younger settlement that developed next to the old pottery shop on Kamenzer Landstrasse from the late 19th century. The area is hilly and used for agriculture; the terrain falls behind the Hussitenberg (244 m) located immediately west of the village in the direction of Döberkitz, where a small stream flows towards the Lange Wasser .

The neighboring towns are Salzenforst in the northeast, Dreistern in the southeast, Neu-Bloaschütz in the south, Döberkitz in the west and Bolbritz in the northwest.

history

Bloaschütz early 20th century

There are several burial mounds between Bloaschütz and the neighboring Döberkitz, which suggest an earlier settlement at this point.

The settlement itself was first mentioned in 1296 as the manor of Heinemannus de Bloschwicz ; it was named Bloschwitz (1502), Bloaschicz (1556) and in 1791 for the first time as Bloaschütz. Until the 20th century the place was also known as Haberdörfel .

In 1777 the manors Bolbritz and Döberkitz owned shares of the small village, which at that time only had one man possessed , three gardeners and eight house owners. At that time, the new route of the Hohen Strasse , a supraregional important trade route, no longer passed through Salzenforst and Dreikretscham , but came directly from Rattwitz past Bloaschütz. For this reason, the pottery tavern (also known as the Tippelschenke ), which no longer exists today, was probably built on the north side of the street.

Bloaschütz has been a district of Bolbritz since the 19th century . In 1969 the municipalities of Bolbritz and Salzenforst were merged to form Salzenforst-Bolbritz . In 1994 it was incorporated into Kleinwelka and in 1999 into the city of Bautzen .

population

In 1834 the population of the place was 83. Arnošt Muka had 98 inhabitants in the 1880s, 93 of them Sorbs (95%). Bloaschütz was then in the middle of the core settlement area. The proportion of Sorbian speakers in town has since declined.

Since the Reformation, the population has been almost exclusively Evangelical-Lutheran and parish to Göda .

Economy and Infrastructure

Immediately to the west of Bloaschütz is the Salzenforst industrial and commercial area , where numerous companies settled after 2000. The Oberlausitz motorway service station is also close to the village .

The place has a convenient location, which favors commercial settlements. The federal motorway 4 ( Dresden - Görlitz ) leads directly north past Bloaschütz; the Salzenforst junction is just under a kilometer away. The state road  111 performs far south of the town of Bautzen to Bischofswerda . The S 106, which was developed as a bypass, enables a fast connection to the B 96 to Hoyerswerda and Zittau . The large district town of Kamenz can also be reached via the S 100.

The animal shelter in Bautzen is located to the west of the village.
