criticism

Reul revised this opinion in May 2015 with the words: “I was probably wrong with my first impression. Commissioner Bulc is open, listens, is well prepared, very close to economic issues and she is doing a good job. "

Žiga Turk - professor of computer science in civil engineering and u. a. Former Secretary General of the Future of Europe reflection group and former Slovenian Minister for Education, Science, Culture and Sport - criticized Ms. Bulc for having “zero political experience”, her nomination “a result of a poor understanding of the Miro Cerar government's lack of understanding of the seriousness of the European project "And that he" simply pushed a loyal party colleague through ". He also found it “sad that Romana Jordan , twice elected to parliament, a PhD in nuclear physics and a respected member of ITRE (EU Parliament's Industry, Research and Energy Committee), has been completely ignored, though she could make excellent contributions [also as Commissioner] to EU politics ”. He also criticized Ms. Bulc's " track record in occultism , shamanism , firewalking , horse whispering , denial of the second law of thermodynamics and the like". On the other hand, he praises her consulting work in “Companies, Design, Everywhere”. He sees your problem in the “fine line between the irrational and the creative”. Turk regretted that "Slovenia was unable to look beyond petty party interests when nominating its Commission candidates". But although Ms. Bulc is “not the best choice”, “she is intelligent and will hopefully be able to learn quickly”.

The “general ease” in filling the EU post is often criticized. B. the NZZ on this occasion:

" Since the substitute wife Violeta Bulc [...], who was subsequently nominated by the Slovenian Prime Minister [...] was out of the question as Commission Vice-President for the Energy Union , the designated Transport Commissioner, the Slovak Maroš Šefčovič , was unceremoniously chosen by Juncker as one of the Vice-Presidents. Bulc, who is part of the Liberals and who entered politics only a few months ago as Slovenian minister, only had four days to prepare for the post of EU Transport Commissioner, which was vacated by Šefčovič's change, before she gave a speech to the Transport Committee on Monday evening in Strasbourg Answer had to be.
On Tuesday the committees gave the green light for Šefčovič and Bulc, which means that nothing stands in the way of the election of the commission on Wednesday. The Transport Committee was annoyed by the speed enforced by the parliamentary leaders, but Bulc was spared critical questions at the hearing. The self-confident Bulc did well - she didn't know what to do next, she spoke of her love for all means of transport from planes to bicycles or of the need to enter into a dialogue with all stakeholders in the face of major challenges. Bulc's modest political experience was not mentioned at the hearing. The parliamentarians also refrained from answering questions about Bulc's career as an esoterically inspired management consultant who has certificates as a shaman and fire walker.
