Music video

The music video produced by Ben Knechtel was released on March 1, 2012. It starts with Jepsen watching her neighbors, played by Holden Nowell, mowing the lawn from the window. After taking off his shirt, he looks at the window, whereupon Jepsen fears that he has noticed her, and then reflexively hides under the window. Then she sings with her band in her garage. Then her band members urge her to wash the car to attract Nowell's attention, who is repairing his car next door. Jepsen shows full physical effort while washing, lies down on the car and smiles at him. In doing so, however, it loses its grip and falls down. While she is dazed and dreams of kissing Nowell, he comes to her aid, she gets up again and goes back to the garage to play the song for him. In the end, she tries to give him her phone number, but he gives his phone number to the band's guitarist. So it turns out he is gay and not interested in Jepsen.

On YouTube , the video reached over 1.2 billion clicks so far (August 2019).
