Quotes

"With the lively wish that next year the German kings and dukes in Thierachern and Bönnigen, but without diets, while we live in Berlin, I recommend myself to your kind memory until goodbye."

- Nauwerck to Franz Raveaux October 1, 1849

"The state is a necessary evil, the prince an unnecessary one."

- K. Nauwerck

“Today's Vossische Zeitung brings the following statement by Mr. K. Nauwerck:“ According to the public papers, this newspaper is also one of the motives that prompted the ministries in charge of censorship to cease the 'Rheinische Zeitung' on March 31st 'Malice' and 'cheek' accused. As I have participated in the paper through a number of articles, I owe it to myself, as regards them, to resolutely reject any reproach. My conscience gives me the testimony that I faithfully love my German fatherland. Those who are aware of this cannot grant anyone the right to touch their honor. ”Berlin, January 30, 1843 Dr. Karl Nauwerck. "

- Rheinische Zeitung. Cologne No. 37 of February 6, 1843

"Mr. Editor! Your Frankfurt correspondent lists me among those who voted against the electoral law. Presumably he mistook me for the Abg. Naumann from Frankfurt ad O .; But then there was no need for the addition of “liberal Berliners”. It should not be unknown to a local correspondent that only one of all six MPs for Berlin is decidedly democratic. Your most devoted Nauwerk, Member of Parliament from Berlin, asks that you accept this correction. Frankfurt a. M. , March 7, 1849. "

- Carl Nauwerck to Karl Marx March 7, 1849 .: Neue Rheinische Zeitung No. 243 of March 11, 1849
