Location of Crespina Lorenzana in the province of Pisa

The place is about 21 km southeast of the provincial capital Pisa and about 60 km southwest of the regional capital Florence .

Its districts include Cenaia (21 m, approx. 2000 inhabitants), Crespina (86 m, approx. 600 inhabitants), Laura (approx. 300 inhabitants), Lorenzana (127 m, approx. 330 inhabitants), Tremoleto (116 m, approx. 100 inhabitants) and Tripalle (86 m, approx. 140 inhabitants).

The neighboring municipalities are Casciana Terme Lari , Cascina , Collesalvetti ( LI ), Fauglia , Orciano Pisano and Santa Luce .

history

The community was created on January 1, 2014 by amalgamating the previously independent communities of Crespina and Lorenzana . In the referendum on October 6 and 7, 2013, 92.47% (34.55% voter turnout) in Crespina voted in favor of the union, in Lorenzana 74.54% (54.45% turnout). The law merging the two municipalities is Legge Regionale n.69 of November 22nd, 2013. The town hall is located in Crespina.
