(1975)

Crime of the Century is the third studio - album of the British Pop - / rock band Supertramp and also the title of a song that plate. description

For the recording of the LP Crime of the Century , Supertramp came together (for the first time) in their successful line-up. The band also included their two remaining founding members, composers and singers Rick Davies (keyboards, harmonica, vocals) and Roger Hodgson (guitars, piano, e-piano, vocals). In addition, now joined by John Helliwell (saxophone, clarinet, flute, backing vocals), Bob Siebenberg (drums, percussion) and Dougie Thomson (bass guitar). The group was still active as a (reshuffled) quintet .

As guest musicians (for the first time in the band's history), for example: a string group led by Richard Hewson, Scott Gorham (from Thin Lizzy ), Christine Helliwell and Vicky Siebenberg (all three accompanying vocals) and Ken Scott (water gong). Scott, who previously worked for David Bowie and The Beatles , co-produced it.

All songs were written by Davies and Hodgson, who each sang their own works. Many of these songs are still played at Supertramp concerts today ( School , Bloody Well Right , Rudy and Crime of the Century ). All, with the exception of If Everyone Was Listening , later appeared on the 1980 live album Paris .

The following year the album Crisis? What Crisis? .
