Czarnowiec ( German  Schwarzenberg ) is a place in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Reszel ( urban and rural community Rößel ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Czarnowiec is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , three kilometers west of the city of Reszel ( German  Rößel ) and 18 kilometers southwest of the district town of Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) .

history

The former Schwarzenberg , formerly also called Abbau Helbing , originally consisted of a large farm and was an estate belonging to the town of Rößel ( Reszel in Polish ) - in the district of the same name . In 1860 Mathilde Helbing laid out the city estate . The total area of ​​the estate was 119 hectares, including 60 hectares of arable land, 16 hectares of meadows, 42 hectares of pastures and 1 hectare of orchards and home gardens. The last landlords before 1945 were Heinz Bachus († 1944) and his wife Esther Maria née William . In Schwarzenberg there were 34 registered residents in 1885 and 33 in 1905.

In 1945, the entire southern was East Prussia in consequence of the war in Poland transferred. Schwarzenberg was also affected. It received the Polish form of the name "Czarnowiec". Today the place is incorporated into the urban and rural community Reszel (Rößel) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

Schwarzenberg was parish up until 1945 in the Protestant Church of Rößel in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul Rößel in the then diocese of Warmia . Today Czarnowiec belongs to the evangelical part of the parish Kętrzyn in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland . On the Catholic side, there is still a connection to the parish in Reszel, but now assigned to the Archdiocese of Warmia .

Czarnowiec is located on Voivodship Road 594 , which connects the two districts of Bartoszyce (Bartenstein) and Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) . There is no connection to rail traffic .
