Wanguty ( German Wangotten ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Reszel ( urban and rural community Rößel ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).
Geographical location
Wanguty is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship , eight kilometers southwest of the district town of Kętrzyn ( German Rastenburg ).
history
The former Wangotten was founded before 1435. In 1785 the place is called "a noble estate with 4 fireplaces". In 1874, the estate village to the recently completed came District Pötschendorf ( Polish Pieckowo ) in the county Rastenburg in the administrative district of Kaliningrad in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In Wangotten there were 106 registered inhabitants in 1820, 228 in 1885, 120 in 1905 and 107 in 1910.
On September 30, 1928, Wangotten lost its independence and was incorporated into the rural community of Bäslack ( Bezławki in Polish ).
1945 Wangotten was in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland transferred. The village received the Polish name form "Wanguty" and is today the seat of a Schulzenamt (Polish Sołectwo ) in the network of the urban and rural community Reszel (Rößel) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship associated. In 2011 Wanguty had 11 residents.

Until 1945 Wangotten was parish in the Protestant church Bäslack in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church Heiligelinde ( Polish Święta Lipka ) in the then diocese of Warmia . Today Wanguty belongs to the evangelical part of the parish Kętrzyn in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland . On the Catholic side, the residents orientate themselves towards the parish Wilkowo (Wilkendorf) with the branch church in Bezławki (Bäslack) in the current Archdiocese of Warmia .

Wangute lies to the west of the 591 voivodship road and can be reached from Muławki (Muhlack) via Grabno (Weitzdorf) in the direction of Bezławki (Bäslack) . There is no connection to rail traffic .
