Wólka Ryńska ( German  Rheindorfshof ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Reszel ( urban and rural community Reszel, German  Rößel ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).

Geographical location

Wólka Ryńska is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship on the south-eastern city limits of Reszel (Rößel) and 14 kilometers southwest of the district town of Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) .

history

In 1786 the Rheindorfshof estate was founded by dismantling the village of Robawen (1938 to 1945 Robaben , in Polish Robawy ). It was called Eggertshof until around 1820 . Originally it was a large farm and until 1945 it was a residential area within the municipality of Robawen in the district of Rößel in the administrative district of Königsberg (from 1905: administrative district of Allenstein ) in the Prussian province of East Prussia . Rheindorfhof had 24 inhabitants in 1820, 65 in 1885 and 37 in 1905.

When the whole of southern East Prussia was transferred to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war , Rheindorfshof was also affected and received the Polish name form “Wólka Ryńska”. Today the small hamlet ( Osada in Polish ) is a place within the urban and rural community Reszel (Rößel) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then it belongs to the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship .

church

Until 1945 Rheindorfshof was parish in the Protestant Church Rößel in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic Church of St. Peter and Paul Rößel in the then diocese of Warmia .

Today, as before, Wólka Ryńska belongs to the Reszel Catholic parish church in the current Archdiocese of Warmia within the Polish Catholic Church . The Protestant church members are now orienting themselves towards the parish of Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

traffic

Wólka Ryńska is located two kilometers from the center of the town of Rezsel and is the end of a side road that branches off from the provincial road 590 . A train connection has not existed since the city of Reszel was decoupled from rail traffic as the next train station in 2006 .
