Śpigiel [ˈɕpigʲɛl] ( German mirror ) is a small town in the urban-and-rural community Reszel (Rößel) in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in northern Poland .
Geographical location
Śpigiel is located south of the Samplitz Lake ( Jezioro Śpigiel in Polish ) on the bank of the Deine ( Dajna in Polish ), about 11 kilometers southeast of Reszel and 17 kilometers southwest of Kętrzyn ( German Rastenburg ) and about 52 kilometers northeast of the regional capital Olsztyn (Allenstein) .
history
The rural municipality (from 1935: "Community") mirror was from 1928 to 1945 and belonged to the county Rastenburg in the administrative district of Kaliningrad in the Prussian province of East Prussia . It was created on September 30, 1928 when it was formed from the merger of the rural community Spieglowken (1938 to 1945 Spiegelswalde , Polish : Śpiglówka ), the forest house Spiegels-Korschen ( Grzybowo ) and the Vorwerke Spiegels-Langheim and Spiegels Jeesau. From 1929 to 1945 it was incorporated into the Pülz district ( Pilec in Polish ). In 1933 the rural community of Spiegels had 203 inhabitants, and 193 in 1939.
When all of southern East Prussia fell to Poland in 1945 as a result of the war , Spiegels was also affected. The small place (Polish: "Osada") received the Polish name form "Śpigiel" and is now a place within the urban and rural community Reszel (Rößel) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Ratsneburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmia Voivodeship -Masures associated.
church
Before 1945, the evangelical part of the Protestant community was divided into the parishes of Bäslack ( Bezławki in Polish ) and Warpuhnen ( Warpuny ) in the church province of East Prussia, part of the Church of the Old Prussian Union . On the Catholic side, the places belonged to the parish Heiligelinde ( Święta Lipka ) in what was then the Diocese of Warmia . Today Śpigiel belongs to the Protestant Church of Warpuny , which is cared for by the parish of Sorkwity (Sorquitten) in the Masuria diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland , as well as to the Catholic parish in Święta Lipka in the current Archdiocese of Warmia within the Polish Catholic Church .
traffic
Śpigiel is located south of a side road that connects Pilec (Pülz) with Burszewo (Burschewen , 1938 to 1945 Prusshöfen) via Śpiglówka (Spieglowken , 1938 to 1945 Spiegelswalde) and leads to Voivodship Road 590 . There is no connection to rail traffic .
