Dębnik ( German Damerauwald ) is a village in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . It belongs to the Gmina Reszel ( urban and rural community Rößel ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).
Geographical location
Dębnik is located in the northern center of the Warmia-Masurian Voivodeship , three kilometers north of the city of Reszel ( German Rößel ) and 15 kilometers west of the district town of Kętrzyn (Rastenburg) .
history
Originally the former Damerauwald only consisted of a small homestead. Until 1945, the place was a residential area of the town of Rößel ( Polish: Reszel ) in the district of the same name in the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1885 Damerauwald had 8 inhabitants, in 1910 it had 9 inhabitants.
In 1945 the city came in consequence of the war with the entire southern East Prussia to Poland and received the Polish form of the name "Dębnik". Today it is the seat of a Schulzenamt ( Polish Sołectwo ) and as such a place in the network of the urban and rural community Reszel (Rößel) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 of the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then part of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship . In 2011 Dębnik had 68 inhabitants

Until 1945 Damerauwald was parish in the Protestant church Rößel in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic St. Peter and Paul Church in Rößel in the diocese of Ermland at that time .
Today Dębnik also belongs to the Catholic parish church in Reszel, which is now assigned to the Archdiocese of Warmia . On the evangelical side, there is a church connection to the Johanneskirche Kętrzyn in the diocese of Masuria of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .

Dębnik is located on Voivodship Road 590 , which runs through the northwestern powiat Kętrzyński and connects it with the powiat Olsztyński ( Allenstein district ). There is no connection between the town and rail traffic .
