Grodzki Młyn ( German Burgmühle ) is a small town in the Polish Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and belongs to the Gmina Reszel ( urban and rural community Rößel ) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ).
Geographical location
Grodzki Młyn is located in the northern center of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship on the southwestern city limit of Reszel ( German Rößel ), 17 kilometers southwest of the district town of Kętrzyn ( Rastenburg ).
history
The small town of Burgmühle , first mentioned in 1656, consisted of a mill and a brick factory from a few courtyards. Until 1945 he was a dwelling place in the town of Great Mönsdorf ( Polish Mnichowo ) in the district Rößel within the Prussian province of East Prussia . In 1885 Burgmühle had 20 inhabitants, in 1900 it had 56 inhabitants.
As a result of the war, Burgmühle came to Poland in 1945 along with all of southern East Prussia and received the Polish form of the name “Grodzki Młyn”. Today it is a village within the urban and rural community Reszel (Rößel) in the powiat Kętrzyński ( Rastenburg district ), until 1998 the Olsztyn Voivodeship , since then the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship belongs.

Burgmühle was parish up until 1945 in the Protestant church Rößel in the church province of East Prussia of the Church of the Old Prussian Union and in the Catholic St. Peter and Paul Church in Rößel in the diocese of Warmia .
Today Grodzki Młyn still belongs to the Catholic parish church in Reszel, which now belongs to the Archdiocese of Warmia . On the evangelical side, the place is now oriented towards St. John's Church in Kętrzyn . It is assigned to the Masurian diocese of the Evangelical-Augsburg Church in Poland .
