The tenth season of the American animated series The Simpsons was broadcast from August 23, 1998 to May 16, 1999 on the US broadcaster Fox . The private broadcaster ProSieben broadcast the German-language first broadcast from November 13, 1999 to December 27, 1999.

The season was released on August 7, 2007 in the United States and October 1, 2007 in Germany on DVD.

Homer becomes an inventor after Lisa tells him about Thomas Edison . However, all of his inventions are useless. When he finally has a good idea, he realizes that Thomas Edison has already made the same invention. Since Edison has not applied for a patent on it, Homer wants to destroy the as yet undiscovered specimen in the Edison Museum.

Bart accidentally kills a pigeon while playing with Nelson and his rifle. He therefore takes care of the eggs that he finds in the nest. Instead of the expected chicks, small lizards hatch from the eggs, which multiply suddenly and eat all the pigeons.

Homer meets Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin in Springfield Forest , where they both live in a house. Because he tells the news to his friends, the whole city knows about it a short time later.

Homer J. Simpson discovers in his mother's old hippie commune that the “J” in his name stands for Jay. Since he likes it there, he also decides to become a hippie. He often visits his mother's two former roommates who make vegetable juice. After Homer destroys much of the production, he wants to make amends for it. However, this time psychotropic substances get into production.

Homer doesn't let Grandpa go to the bathroom during the outing, which causes his kidneys to burst. A kidney from his son could save Grandpa his life, but Homer is afraid of the operation and always runs away. After Homer is in a car accident, his kidney is removed and his father transplanted at the same time.

Homer becomes mayor Quimby's bodyguard. War breaks out between Fat Tony and Mayor Quimby after it is discovered that Fat Tony sold rat milk to the children at school. Quimby is murdered during a theater performance, which Homer, with the help of Mark Hamill, is able to prevent.

Intoxicated, Homer and his friends demolish the school. A curfew is imposed on the children who are held responsible . The children share the secrets of their adult fellow citizens on a radio station they have made themselves in order to get revenge. After they are caught, the seniors impose a general curfew on anyone under seventy.

After Homer meets the tour operator Wally, he persuades several residents of Springfield to take a bus trip to the Superbowl in Miami. Upon arrival in Miami, the tickets to the final turned out to be forgeries. When attempting to sneak into the stadium in secret, everyone is arrested. After their outbreak, they happen to end up in the dressing room of the winning team.

Homer is happy that the charismatic main character of a new police series bears his name. But a short time later, the role is rewritten and the character becomes a fool. Homer therefore has his name changed to Max Power, which initially brings great advantages for him in his everyday life.

Apu gets into an argument with his wife Manjula a week before Valentine's Day . This feels neglected because Apu works a lot. In order to regain her love, Apu spoils her every day with surprises. However, this happens much to the displeasure of the other men in Springfield. When Apu has a declaration of love written to heaven, Homer prevents the name Manjula from being written out. Every woman in Springfield now seems to think it could mean herself.

Homer buys an off-road vehicle , but inadvertently buys the women's model. He refuses to drive the car because he is afraid of being mocked every time and for this reason gives it to Marge. The car makes her drive very aggressively and she eventually loses her driver's license. When visiting the zoo, the rhinos break out and pursue Homer. Marge manages to distract the animals with the car and save Homer.

A radio mast was placed on the Simpsons' house to settle a compensation payment, and the technical equipment will be installed in Lisa's room. Lisa is stressed because she has to share a room with Bart. Homer takes Lisa into a New Age store, where they have themselves locked in containers to raise awareness.

Homer and the truck driver Red Barclay have an eating contest and Red dies. Homer and Bart now want to take over Red's last shipment to Atlanta. After Homer falls asleep at the wheel, he discovers that the truck has an autopilot . It's a secret that Homer frivolously reveals, despite a strong warning. All the truck drivers now want to take revenge on Homer. Homer manages to escape the other truck drivers and gets the delivery to its destination on time. Meanwhile, Marge and Lisa buy a new doorbell.

After a failed attempt to set up a garden grill, Homer wants to take the "sculpture" to the dump. There the gallery owner Astrid declares the “sculpture” a “work of art”. Homer creates other “works of art”. After he fails, he wants to create a new Venice and puts Springfield under water.

It is Bart's fault that Shelbyville, not Springfield, becomes an Olympic city. As a punishment, he does charitable work in the retirement home. There, Bart persuades the seniors to go on a boat trip that ends in disaster. Since Homer washes the specimens of the Olympic mascot he designed (springs) down the toilet into the open sea, the sunken ship and its passengers can be rescued because the ship is rescued to the surface.

Homer loses all of his fortune in a robbery. The family flies to Japan on a cheap trip. However, you must realize that living in Japan is very expensive. In order to raise the money for the return flight, they appear on a television game show.
