Chess Olympiad 1935

The 6th Chess Olympiad took place from August 16 to 31, 1935 in Warsaw ( Poland ).

Overview

20 teams took part to determine the Olympic champion in a round-robin tournament . Estonia and Ireland as well as the Mandate Palestine were in the starting field for the first time. Germany was not represented this time. 99 players took part in the competition. The team tournament was played with four teams, with a substitute player was allowed. The officers' mess of the garrison in Warsaw was the venue.

The head of the organizing committee was Bronisław Nakoniecznikoff-Klukowski from Poland. Dawid Przepiórka from Poland acted as tournament director . The reflection time was two hours for 36 trains, then one hour for each 18 trains. The placements were decided based on the board points (BP), team points (MP), number of wins (+), direct comparison, salvor system and coin toss.

As part of the Chess Olympiad, the 1935 World Chess Championship for women took place.
