The 2nd Chess Olympiad took place from July 21st to August 6th 1928 in The Hague . It was organized by FIDE and consisted of a men's competition. In addition, various attractions took place to make chess known.

The game was played in the Binnenhof , the Dutch parliament. 17 teams with a total of 86 players took part, who played against each other in a round-robin tournament . Poland, Latvia, the USA and Romania were there for the first time. Time controls were unknown after an hour for the first 20 trains. Poland, Latvia, the USA and Romania were at the start of a Chess Olympiad for the first time.

In the German team were the players Heinrich Wagner , Wilhelm Hilse , Wilhelm Schönmann , Max Blümich and Heinz Foerder .
