This article lists all German publications in the Doctor Who series .

Novel and comic book publications

Even before the series was first broadcast in Germany, two novels based on the series were published by Franz Schneider Verlag . At the start of the series on RTL at the end of the 80s and during the early 90s, Goldmann Verlag published six novels based on the series' series. To this end, the two novels previously published by Schneider-Buch-Verlag have been re-translated. At the same time, Condor Verlag published three comics based on the adventures of the sixth doctor under the title Doctor Who's Journeys through Space and Time .
Between 2013 and 2017, Cross Cult published several novels on the series before the license was transferred to Bastei Lübbe in 2017 . Panini has also published several ongoing Doctor Who comic series since 2015.

Audio books and radio plays

Between 2015 and 2017, Audible, in collaboration with Cross Cult, published three audiobooks based on three of their Doctor Who novels. Since 2016 the publishing house Bastei Lübbe has also published several Doctor Who audio books, partly based on their Doctor Who novels in a slightly abridged version, and also several radio plays based on the English audio drama by Big Finish Productions .

Home video publications

The first and only VHS for the series was released in Germany by CiC / Universal and contains the television film for the series with Paul McGann in the lead role.

The license to the series for DVD and Blu-ray distribution is shared by three German companies: KSM Film released the first two seasons of the new era of the series, while Polyband holds the license to the new era from the third season. The publication rights to the German-dubbed episodes of the original series were secured by Pandastorm Pictures at the beginning of 2014 and published the episodes in German in several DVD sets from the end of 2014.

Polyband has announced that the first serial of the original series will probably be released on DVD in 2017, which until then had no German dubbed version. Pandastorm Pictures has announced to publish further series on DVD in a mediabook and some time later in a standard version on DVD. A new German dubbed version will be produced for this, as the episodes were never broadcast in Germany. The series is now completely in German from the plot line The Resurrection of the Daleks from the 21st season.
