Dorothea Walda

Dorothea Walda (born November 1, 1931 in Kanth ; † February 18, 2016 in Wülfrath ) was a German actress .

Life

Born in Kanth near Breslau, Dorothea Walda came to Wülfrath in 1946 after the Second World War . After having appeared on German theater stages and on television for decades, she owed her final breakthrough to Hape Kerkeling , who cast her in 1995 as a traveling senior in the film club Las Piranjas . The film became a success, and Walda was then offered many mostly comic roles. She played in RTL - comedy formats like Ritas Welt alongside Gaby Köster . Numerous television productions followed with roles in Tatort or in Lindenstrasse . She had a continuous series role in 2011/12 as Grandma Hedwig in the ARD early evening series Heiter bis tödlich: Henker & Richter . In 2010 she played in Otto's Eleven at the side of Otto Waalkes . In her roles, she mostly portrayed a recalcitrant, bizarre old lady, who is also kind, intelligent and committed.

In her home town of Wülfrath, Dorothea Walda was involved in many areas, with a focus on looking after displaced persons . She directed the play The Great Fire by Wülfrath until 2008 , the arrangement was shown on the Herzog-Wilhelm-Markt. In the city church she worked as a reader. She was honored because of her commitment in August 2007 by being awarded the Federal Cross of Merit.

Walda lived in Wülfrath near Düsseldorf and was not married.
