Dubravko "Dubi" Tešević (born December 18, 1981 in Foča ) is a former Bosnian - Austrian football player .

The player, who was mostly used on the left wing, was considered a free kick specialist.

Club career

Adolescent years

Tešević began his career in the youth of his home club FK Sloga Doboj . There he played until the beginning of the Bosnian War , which forced the family to leave their homeland. First the family fled to his aunt in the Montenegrin city of Budva , where he spent the next two years in the youth of FK Mogren . In 1994 the family finally emigrated to Austria and settled in Klagenfurt . He then played for three years in the youth of the SAK Klagenfurt before the family moved to Leoben again in Styria . There he stayed at the DSV Leoben , then known as the training club , where he signed his first professional contract in 1998 at the age of seventeen under coach Günther Kronsteiner .

Shortly after signing the contract, Kronsteiner left the club in the direction of FK Austria Vienna and was replaced by Milan Đuričić . At the top club of the First Division at that time , he had little chance of establishing himself in the professional team due to the great competition in the form of players such as Thomas Weissenberger , Marek Penksa , Peter Guggi , Walter Hörmann or Wolfgang Klapf . Although he was in the professional squad of Leoben from 1999, he was only used in test matches or in the club's amateur team.

First Vienna FC

At the age of 19 he came to Vienna through his uncle's mediation to switch to the Vienna sports club . Due to a personal acquaintance with the former First Vienna FC coach Illija Sormaz , however , he joined the traditional club, which had just been relegated to third division for the first time in the club's history .

In his first year with the Döblingern , he developed into one of the few positive figures in a disastrous season for the club. As a favorite for the immediate resurgence, the Vienna ended the season as twelfth in the table in the lower third of the table and had drawn the displeasure of the fans with many arrogant appearances. The completely unknown Tešević had fought for a regular place right from the start and with six goals in his debut season and his dangerousness in standard situations became a kind of public darling. In the following season he was able to establish himself under coach Kurt Garger , next to Ondrej Ondrovič and Steffen Bury , as one of the top performers of the team, which showed a clear upward trend with third place in the table. However, after one missed promotion again in the 2003/04 season with third place in the table, Garger had to vacate his place and was replaced by Franz Weiss . Weiss made a complete upheaval and demoted Tešević, who had been out in the preseason due to a cruciate ligament tear , to the joker. In his traditional position on the left wing, the Vienna home grown Predrag Bjelovuk was given preference, in the half-left midfield Roland Moder, brought by Weiss . In the course of the season he completed only 16 season games without scoring, the team finished third in the table for the third time in a row. The financially weak club, which in the previous year had already given up a service provider with Bury due to his salary, made Tešević a contract offer for significantly reduced salaries, whereupon he no longer extended his contract.

Livingston FC

As a result, he was about to sign the contract after a trial training at SV Ried , before he went to a two-week training camp with the Scottish first division club FC Livingston near the Italian city together with the then Grazer AK player Dominic Hassler through the mediation of the controversial manager Edi Brunner Pisa received. While Hassler could not convince, Tešević then received a three-year contract with the club trained by Paul Lambert .

Under newcomer Lambert, he started the season as a regular in the 3-0 away defeat against Glasgow Rangers before he was out due to injury until December due to hernia problems . Fit again, he sat on the bench for the entire season in the following six championship games until the turn of the year, before agreeing to terminate his contract with the club at the end of January 2006. Livingston coach Lambert gave the player's personal reasons for the breakup.

Wandering years

For the second half of the 2005/06 season he then moved, with a six-month delay, to the Bundesliga for SV Ried . In Ried, however, he struggled with the long-term effects of his injury and only came to a league assignment. In the following season he played for Ried in the UI Cup against FC Tiraspol before he switched to his former coach Kurt Garger in the first division at SC-ESV Parndorf .

Although brought in as the coach's dream player, he was unable to fight for a regular place in Parndorf. In total, he came to only six missions by spring 2007, including only two over the full distance, without being able to score a goal. In the second half of the season, the contract was terminated early.

As a result, he made another surprising move abroad, in the third Portuguese division to CF União da Madeira . In Portugal, too, things didn't go according to plan for him. In just under a year at União, he only played five games this season with one goal before returning to Austria in January 2009 in the Regionalliga Ost for Herbert Prohaska Ostbahn XI's home club.

At Ostbahn he was able to call up his qualities again over a longer period of time for the first time and became one of the team's top performers. In total, he played all fifteen possible second round matches, scored two goals and was next to striker Vadim Slavov as a guarantor of relegation.

FC Gratkorn

His strong performances did not go unnoticed and so he moved one league higher to the second division FC Gratkorn in the 2009/10 season . In Gratkorn he was able to establish himself as a regular player straight away and developed into the team's most striking player over the course of the season. In addition to the discarded susceptibility to injury, he also found his goal danger again. At the end of the season he finished seventh on the list of goalscorers in the First League with eight goals and second in the team behind Joachim Parapatits . The club ended the season with seventh place in the league in the secured midfield.
