The 1992/93 season was the fifth regular season of the East Coast Hockey League (ECHL). The 15 teams completed 64 games each in the regular season . The team with the highest points in the regular season were the Wheeling Thunderbirds , while the Toledo Storm won their first Riley Cup in the play-offs .

Team changes

The following changes were made before the start of the season:

• The Winston-Salem Thunderbirds were relocated to Wheeling , West Virginia , and from then on played under the name Wheeling Thunderbirds .
• The Roanoke Valley Rebels changed their name to Roanoke Valley Rampage.
• The Cincinnati Cyclones moved to the International Hockey League .
• The Birmingham Bulls were added to the league as an expansion team.
