Damián Emiliano Martínez (born September 2, 1992 in Mar del Plata ) is an Argentine football goalkeeper .
Career
societies
Martínez was in his youth with the Argentine club CA Independiente in Avellaneda under contract. In 2010 he moved to the youth department of Arsenal for 1.5 million euros . The following season he slipped into the professional Arsenal team and was loaned straight to Oxford that same season . He made his debut in the League Cup 6-1 win over Coventry and was part of the 7-5 win over Reading FC .
Martínez returned to Arsenal for the 2014/15 season on loan to Sheffield Wednesday . There he is number three behind Wojciech Szczęsny and David Ospina . With Szczęsny suspended and Ospina injured, Martínez played for the first time in the UEFA Champions League on October 22, 2014 in the 2-1 win over RSC Anderlecht . From March 2015 until the end of the season he played on loan at Rotherham United .
On August 11, 2015 moved to the end of the 2015/16 season on loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers .
