Engelthaler forest

The Engelthaler Forest is a 2.42 km² municipality-free area in the central Franconian district of Nürnberger Land . The forest area is located west-southwest of Engelthal , northwest of Offenhausen and east of Leinburg . The Nonnenberg is 579  m above sea level. NHN the highest point in this area. In the Middle Ages, there was a castle on a northern ledge of this mountain, but no contemporary records are available of this. The place called Geierstein , where their remains are, is now known as Burgstall Ödes Castle .
