Erazem Lorbek (born February 21, 1984 in Ljubljana , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a former Slovenian basketball player. His brothers Domen and Klemen are also professional basketball players, and their father, Radovan, is president of the Adriatic Basketball Association .
career
Club career
Lorbek played college basketball for Michigan State University in the NCAA before moving to Fortitudo Bologna in 2003. He was active there until 2006 and became Italian champion in 2005. He also reached the final of the Euroleague with Fortitudo in 2004 and was awarded the first ever Rising Star Trophy the following season .
After playing for Unicaja Málaga for half a year , Lorbek returned to Italy in 2007 and signed with Benetton Treviso . By using Lorbeks, however, the club exceeded the maximum number of players used per season in Serie A and were punished with a point deduction, which is why Lorbek changed club again after almost two months and went to Lottomatica Roma .
The following year he signed a contract with CSKA Moscow . With this club he became Russian champions and reached the final of the 2008/09 Euroleague season , in which he was also elected to the All Euroleague Second Team .
After a year Lorbek moved to FC Barcelona . With Barcelona he won the Euroleague in 2010 and was again nominated for the All Euroleague Second Team , in 2011 he was Spanish champions with the Catalan club.
In the following season Lorbek was elected to the All Euroleague First Team for the first time and reached the Final Four of the competition with Barcelona . He also won again the Spanish championship and was voted Most Valuable Player of the final series. After the third championship title in 2014, Lorbek left the club.
National team
Lorbek was a player in the Slovenian national team and took part in the European Championships in 2005, 2007, 2009 and 2011. At the EM 2009 he was also elected to the All Tournament Team .
