The FC Tulsa (until the end of 2019 Tulsa roughnecks ) is an American football franchise the USL Championship in Tulsa , Oklahoma .
history
On December 18, 2013, it was announced that a USL Pro franchise would be based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This new team is owned and operated by the Tulsa Drillers, a minor league baseball team from Tulsa. The Drillers are linked to the Los Angeles Dodgers who play Major League Baseball . The co-owners of the baseball team, Jeff and Dale Hubbard, will also co-own the Roughnecks. Prodigal, LLC., Which owns Oklahoma City Energy , acquired additional ownership rights to the franchise .
On February 26th, the team name was determined as part of an online survey. The name Roughnecks refers to the former soccer team Tulsa Roughnecks , which played in the North American Soccer League from 1978 to 1984 .
The former English soccer player David Irving was signed as the first coach. He trained the Wilmington Hammerheads until late 2014 .
For the 2020 season , the franchise was renamed FC Tulsa and gave itself a new logo and new colors.

The home games of Tulsa FC are played at the ONEOK Field baseball stadium. The Drillers also play their home games in the AA Texas League here.
