The Real Monarchs SLC are an American football franchise of the USL Championship from Herriman , Utah .
The Real Monarchs are the reserve team of the MLS franchise Real Salt Lake and play their home games at Zions Bank Stadium .
history
On November 3, 2014, the Major League Soccer franchise Real Salt Lake officially announced the creation of Real Monarchs SLC. The name and coat of arms were announced at a press conference. The franchise is owned by Dell Loy Hansen. He also owns Real Salt Lake. The two teams are therefore partnered and RSL will also be an official partner of the Real Monarchs within the framework of the MLS-USL partnership.
The team will play in the USL Pro from the 2015 season. The former American football player and youth coach at Real Salt Lake, Freddy Juarez, was confirmed as coach.

The home games will be played by the Real Monarchs at the Rio Tinto Stadium. The football stadium seats 20,213 and is owned by franchise owner Dell Loy Hansen. The Real Salt Lake games are also played here.
