Medal table
The medal table reflects the modern perspective. In the FIS races that are part of the world championships today, however, only the winner of the alpine combination was honored as the FIS winner; there was no FIS title for the combination downhill and the combined slalom; these are only treated as separate competitions in retrospect. In addition, there was no official distinction between Alpine and Nordic World Ski Championships at that time, so that in the 1920s and 1930s the successes in FIS races and FIS World Ski Championships in the Alpine and Nordic disciplines were counted together.
