List of schedule fields
This article lists all Timetable charts in the railway part of the Swiss course book . The last major change to the timetable field numbers was in 1982 with the introduction of the interval timetable, when all lines were given a three-digit number at the same time. After that there were only a few adjustments. Probably the most frequently changed timetable field was that of the Gotthard line, which has already been divided into 600 and 601 and brought together again several times. Unless otherwise noted, the fields are based on the 2017 edition of the course book.
The list of the current timetable fields can be requested and downloaded from the official homepage.
Structure of a timetable field
A timetable field shows the traffic times of all trains between two junction stations. This means that most long-distance trains run over several timetable fields, and also often the regional trains. This also makes the timetable fields different from the Deutsche Bahn course book routes, as the focus is more on the trains that run on the routes. Because most trains cross the field, there are headers and footers that show the most important direct connections. If there are frequent intervals or stops, there are often separate timetable fields for local transport connections, but this is always noted in the long-distance traffic timetable field.
For example, the route Bern – Zurich, on which non-stop trains run, is divided into the timetable fields 450 (Bern – Olten) and 650 (Olten – Zurich), whereby the two possible routes of long-distance trains are taken into account in both course fields.
numbering
The numbering runs from west to east and from north to south whenever possible.
There are the following number blocks (as of 2008):
- Lanes: 100 to 960
- Alpine car trains: 1975 to 1986
- Cable cars: 2003 to 2995
- Ships: 3150 to 3940
- Abroad (in 4 separate brochures): 4100 to 4590 (long-distance connections) and 5100 to 5470 (routes close to the border)
- Night buses: 9301 to 9609
- Buses: 10.001 to 94.218 by region and route number (until 2007 100.10 to 960.85)
- Local and city networks: at the beginning of the region as XX,000 (until 2007 991.01 to 995.95)
The most important long-distance traffic axes were given the 100 and 50 numbers, the 100 in the north-south direction and the 50 in the west-east direction. The 10 numbers were then distributed to the other important lines. The 1 to 9 numbers were then used for the local and secondary lines connecting to these lines.
If a timetable field has to be split up for any reason (e.g. Gotthard or S-Bahn Bern), the field is given a XXX.Y number.
Since the timetables of the foreign railways were mostly incomplete at the time the timetable was printed, they were moved to a separate volume, ultimately even distributed in four brochures, which do not always appear at the same time and are sometimes not valid for a whole year (e.g. E.g. December 10, 2006 to July 7, 2007 for the brochure France, etc.). The classification is based on the four large neighboring countries:
- Fields 41XX and 51XX France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, London
- Fields 42XX and 52XX Germany, Netherlands
- Fields 43XX and 53XX Austria, Central Europe
- Fields 44XX and 54XX Italy
As of 2017/18, the bus routes will be divided into 20 regions, from 10 “Vaud without Chablais” to 94 “Tirol”, followed by the usual route number - if available. The ZVV bus line 950 is then z. B. classified as 70,950.
With this new system (2007) the previous numbering system was abandoned with a XXX.YY number, whereby the number in front of the point should generally be the timetable field number of the most important transfer station. The two digits after the point were assigned as required, with an attempt to have 10-bus timetable numbers start from the same train station.
List of schedule fields
The numbers used before 1982, which are set in parentheses, no longer completely correspond to the current numbering. Fields that span several of today's are not marked. If nothing is noted, the information comes from the 1981–82 winter course book. The information from 1981/82 does not have to agree with earlier course books, for example the Bürkli - Swiss course book summer 1948 has numbers 35a for the Aigle – Leysin line instead of 24c, 27a for Aigle – Ollon – Monthey – Champéry instead of 24b.
