This article deals with the 1999/2000 season of the German women's ice hockey league, for the season of the Austrian women's ice hockey league see Women's ice hockey league 1999/2000 .
The women's ice hockey Bundesliga season 1999/2000 was the 14th Bundesliga season for women in Germany. In the course of the season, the Mannheim ERC team prevailed and won the title of German champions . There was again the final meeting with TuS Geretsried, which repeatedly had to admit defeat to the Wild Cats of the MERC.
The preliminary round was carried out separately in the relays in a single round each against each with a return leg. Subsequently, the places 1 to 3 played the intermediate round and the places 4 to 6 the relegation south and north.
Preliminary round
In the preliminary round, the three best teams in each of the two groups were determined, which qualified for the intermediate round, in which the participants in the final tournament were determined. The three worse placed in the two groups had to qualify for the next Bundesliga season via relegation .
In the relegation games, the last three places in the league groups had to defend themselves against the advancement of the regional league teams. From the Regionalliga Nord these were teams from Braunlage and Darmstadt who had previously qualified for the relegation round in an intermediate round alongside the ES Weißwasser team , which did not participate. Of these, the WSV Braunlage managed to leave the team from Bergkamen behind and take part in the upcoming Bundesliga season. For the relegation south teams from Hügelsheim and Schwenningen from the Baden-Württemberg league and the former Bundesliga club DEC Königsbrunn from the Bayernliga had qualified, but they could not achieve promotion.
In the second round, the teams that were better placed in the preliminary round and qualified for the final tournament prevailed. The game results against teams from their own preliminary group have been adopted. (here highlighted in color )
