Life

Origin and family

Friedrich Wilhelm was a member of the Altmark noble family von Lüderitz . His father served up to the rank of colonel in the Prussian army .

In 1750 he married Sophia Elisabeth Philippine von Alvensleben (1732-1804), mistress of the large farm in Calbe , Groß Engersen , 1/2 Hundisburg , Walthersdorf, Plathe and Badingen . The marriage resulted in three daughters and three sons:

  • Leopold Wilhelm Werner von Lüderitz (1750 / 51–1811), Prussian captain in the Möllendorf infantry regiment , ⚭ 1791 Amalie Albertine Auguste Christiane von Tresckow (1770–1831)
  • Ludolf Philipp von Lüderitz (1752–1806), Prussian High Tribunal Councilor, ⚭ Henriette Dorothea Elisabeth Alverdes (1760–1811 / 12)
  • Louise von Lüderitz (1755–1831), ⚭ Karl Leopold Daniel von Bülow (1748–1822), Prussian lieutenant , dean of the Halberstadt cathedral monastery
  • Wilhelmine Sophie Elisabeth (Luise Henriette) von Lüderitz (1756–1827), ⚭ Ludwig August von Guionneau (1749–1829) Prussian major general
  • Friedrich Wilhelm von Lüderitz (1764-1825), Imperial Legation Councilor
  • Henriette Luise Philippine von Lüderitz († 1784)

Career

Lüderitz joined the Prussian Army as a non-commissioned officer in 1733 after studying for two years at the pedagogy in Halle . At first he served in the body regiment of Friedrich Wilhelm I in Potsdam, but changed as an ensign to the infantry regiment Margrave Heinrich , where he was promoted to second lieutenant in 1738 and first lieutenant in 1741 . He took part in the 1st Silesian War and 2nd Silesian War , in particular the Battle of Mollwitz and Hohenfriedberg , as well as the actions at Graez and Zobten. In 1743 he was assigned to the Prince Leopold Infantry Regiment . Lüderitz was promoted to staff captain and real captain in the regiment in 1745 and major in 1756 and took part in the Seven Years' War . He was there at the siege of Prague and the battles at Soor , Lowositz , Breslau and Zorndorf . In October 1756 he had received the order Pour le Mérite because of Lowositz . Lüderitz had been promoted to lieutenant colonel in 1760 and finally to colonel in 1761. In 1767 he asked the king for his own regiment, as Colonels Ploetz and Krockow would have received. The king refused on the grounds that he lacked the strength to become a general. Lüderitz thereupon asked for his departure , which was granted to him on September 10, 1767.

In 1772, however, Frederick II appointed Lüderitz as master hunter. Since Lüderitz was new to the profession, Gottlob Magnus Leopold von Wedel was initially assigned to support him. Lüderitz held the position until his death at Steckfluss . Carl Wilhelm von Schönfeld turned down the offer to succeed Lüderitz because the associated salary of 2500 thalers was too low for him. Finally, on September 2, 1785, Detlef Ludwig Otto von Bandemer, a successor to Lüderitz as land hunter master, was found.

Lüderitz was hereditary lord on 1/2 Lüderitz , 1/2 Schernebeck , part of Kremkow, Schöneberg and Herzfelde .

His grave still exists and is in Cemetery I of the Jerusalem and New Churches. It is the oldest preserved grave monument there.
