The national road 312 ( Chinese 312 国 道 , Pinyin 312 Guódào , English China National Highway 312 ), Chinese abbreviation G312 , is with a length of 4,967 km the second longest Chinese trunk road after the national road G318 and runs in east-west direction on the field of government indirect city Shanghai , in the provinces of Jiangsu , Anhui , Henan , Shaanxi and Gansu , as well as in the autonomous regions of Ningxia and Xinjiang . It runs parallel to the G40 motorway from the metropolis of Shanghai via Suzhou , Wuxi , Nanjing , Hefei , Xinyang and Nanyang to Xi'an . From there it runs parallel to the G22 motorway via Pingliang to Lanzhou and further parallel to the G30 motorway via Zhangye , Jiayuguan , Ürümqi and Yining to the border with Kazakhstan .
