Gabriele Jacoby

Gabriele Jacoby , also Gaby Jacoby , real name Gabriela Angela Jacoby, (born April 13, 1944 in Salzburg ) is an Austrian actress and musical artist .

Life

Jacoby is the daughter of the actress, singer and dancer Marika Rökk and the director Georg Jacoby and granddaughter of Wilhelm Jacoby , the author of Pension Schöller . She grew up in St. Wolfgang and Munich , among others .

Jacoby completed an acting training at the Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna from 1962 to 1964 ; there she also received vocal training . She passed her final exam with Susi Nicoletti . She had her first engagement at the Landestheater Salzburg . There she played in her first premiere, Shakespeare's comedy What you want , at the side of Klaus Maria Brandauer . In the late 1960s Jacoby moved to the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus . There she appeared, under the direction of Karl-Heinz Stroux , with Susi Nicoletti and Robert Lindner in the comedy Das Glas Wasser .

In 1969 she was engaged by Rolf Kutschera , director of the Theater an der Wien , for the role of Eliza Doolittle in the Austrian premiere of the musical My Fair Lady ; her partners were Josef Meinrad and Hugo Gottschlich . In 1972 she sang Raina in the world premiere of the musical Helden, Helden by Udo Jürgens , at the side of Michael Heltau , Julia Migenes and Irmgard Seefried , also at the Theater an der Wien . In this role she also made guest appearances at the Hamburg Operettenhaus in 1973 ; this time Paul Hubschmid was her partner as officer Bluntschli. In 1974 the German-language premiere of the musical Pippin followed, also at the Theater an der Wien, with Jacoby in the female lead .

In the season 1972/73 took over on Volkstheater Vienna the female lead, the young bride Annie, in Franz Molnár's play game in the castle ; She took on this role there again in the 1984/85 season at performances in the outskirts of Vienna. In the following years Jacoby had engagements at the Raimundtheater Vienna , the Small Comedy Vienna, the Melk Summer Play , the Theater am Dom in Cologne , the Gandersheim Cathedral Festival , the Comedy Düsseldorf , the Wiener Kammerspiele and the Theater in der Josefstadt . In the 1983/84 season she appeared again at the Vienna Volkstheater, this time in the comedy Das Konzert by Hermann Bahr . In the 1984/85 season she appeared there in the title role of Goldoni's comedy Mirandolina , also again in performances in the outskirts of Vienna. In 1990 she played Octavia in the drama Der Ritter vom Mirakel by Lope de Vega at the Volkstheater Wien .

Jacoby has also been part of the theater ensemble in der Josefstadt since 1990. There she played the title role in the social comedy Olympia by Franz Molnár, Annie in Spiel im Schloss , Grappina in Die Raspbeerpflücker by Fritz Hochwälder , Madame Bouffier in Jacobowsky and der Oberst , Edine in Der Schwierige , Dolly Levine in the comedy The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder (2001) and the Maud in the salon comedy Best Friends (2002) by William Douglas-Home . In 1991, she played with the Berndorfer Festival in Bernsdorf , where she directed by Felix Dvorak in City Theater Berndorf in the comedy morality of Ludwig Thoma occurred; her partners on stage were Kurt Jaggberg and Felix Dvorak. In the 2009/10 season she took on the role of Diana in the comedy Othello mustn't burst by Ken Ludwig at the Theater in der Josefstadt, alongside Otto Schenk , Isabella Gregor and Erich Altenkopf . In this role Jacoby appeared in over 500 performances in almost twenty years.

In 2009 she took on the role of Mrs. Higgins in the musical My Fair Lady at the Mörbisch Seefestspiele .

Jacoby also worked for television and radio . In 1971 she stood for ZDF in a film adaptation of the operetta Die Dollarprinzessin at the side of Gerhart Lippert and Tatjana Iwanow in front of the television camera. She has had roles in various television series, including the Austrian family series The Schöngrubers (1972), The Donauprinzessin (1992) and the series Der Bergdoktor (1993). In November 1979 she appeared in Oberlaa in the program One will win as an artist. Several times, including 1979 and 1986, she was a guest of the entertainer Heinz Schenk in his program Zum Blauen Bock . In 2006 she was a guest on the program The Spring Festival of Folk Music ; she sang a medley of revue tunes from her mother's films.

Since the late 1980s, Jacoby has been intensively committed to animal welfare , especially neglected dogs in Greece . Since the death of Lotte Tobisch in 2019, she has been president of the association “Artists Help Artists” in Baden ( Lower Austria ).

Jacoby has been married to real estate agent Friedrich Moser for the second time since 1988. Jacoby and her husband have lived in Baden near Vienna since 2005 , in their mother's house.
