The Gauliga Westmark 1943/44 was the third season of the Gauliga Westmark in football and at the same time the last in which a champion was determined. The season was marked by difficult external conditions caused by the war and the increasing shortage of players at the clubs. Before the season started, last year's champions FV Saarbrücken with SC Altenkessel , TSG 1861 Ludwigshafen with TSG Oppau and the newcomer VfL 1847 Speyer with MSV Pioneers had inevitably joined forces to form war syndicates , and in 1944 1. FC and VfR were also formed Kaiserslautern a common team. The Saarbrücken team finally prevailed in the championship round without defeat, reached the final round of the German championship and reached the quarter-finals there. For the 1944/45 season, the division of the division into two seasons was planned, but there was apparently no more regular play.
