Sarah Michelle Gellar
Sarah Michelle Gellar (born April 14, 1977 in New York ; real name Sarah Michelle Prinze) is an American actress . She was best known for the role of Buffy Summers in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997-2003) and the films I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997) and Ice Cold Angels (1999).
life and career
The daughter of Jewish parents grew up as an only child with her mother Rosellen Gellar (née Greenfield) after her parents' divorce in 1984; her father Arthur Gellar left the family.
At the age of four, Gellar was discovered by an agent in a restaurant. She then shot more than 30 commercials for the fast food chain Burger King , in which she assured in a childlike voice that her McDonald's burger does not taste good. She was then sued by McDonald’s for comparative advertising and was banned from all McDonald’s restaurants for two years.
She gained fame through the series All My Children (1993-1995), which brought her in 1997 the lead role in the series Buffy - The Vampire Slayer . She played the role of Buffy Summers until the series ended in 2003, during which time she received numerous television awards.
She had her first big movie role in 1997 in the horror film I Know What You Did Last Summer with her future husband Freddie Prinze junior . In the same year she was also seen in Scream 2 . In 1999, she played the lead role in the drama Cruel Intentions alongside Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon . The film was an international success and Gellar won two MTV Movie Awards . In addition to Buffy , she was also seen in other television series in guest roles, including in Sex and the City (2000) and the Buffy spin-off Angel - Hunter of Darkness (1999-2000).
In 2002 she was in the hit movie Scooby-Doo and in 2004 also in the sequel Scooby Doo 2 - The monsters are on the loose . In that year she played the leading role in the horror film The Grudge and stayed true to this genre in 2006 with The Return .
In recent years, Gellar has mostly appeared in independent films. It was mainly for her performances in the films The Air I Breathe - The Force of Destiny (2007) and Veronika Decides to Die (2010) by film critics praised. However, it was unable to build on earlier cinema successes.
In spring 2011, production of the Ringer series began , in which Gellar played a double role. The series aired on The CW from September 2011 to May 2012 .
From 2013-2014 Gellar was next to Robin Williams in by CBS broadcast sitcom The Crazy Ones as Sydney Roberts to see.
Since 2015 she speaks the figure of the Seventh Sister (English: Seventh Sister ) in the animated series Star Wars Rebels , which also her husband Freddie Prinze Jr. a figure the Jedi Kanan Jarrus speaks.
Today Sarah Michelle Prinze works for the company Foodstirs, which she co-founded.
Personal
Gellar has been with actor Freddie Prinze Jr. since September 1, 2002 . married and lives with him in Los Angeles . She officially changed her surname to Prinze, giving her husband a present for their fifth wedding anniversary (September 1, 2007). They met as two of the main characters on the set of I Know What You Did last summer .
The two have had a daughter since September 19, 2009, and their son was born in September 2012.

With the increasing number of appearances in horror films such as I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997), Scream 2 (1997), The Grudge (2004) or The Return (2006), Gellar established himself more and more over the years " Scream Queen ".
Since the beginning of her career she has been a "permanent guest" on the covers of international magazines. She was named "Woman of the Year 2008" by the US men's magazine Maxim .
Together with Jack Black , she produced parodies of the Lord of the Rings , Spider-Man and Panic Room films for MTV .
Gellar has shot commercials for Burger King (1982), Shake'n'Bake, Avon Products (1991), Lee Jeans (1991) and three times for Maybelline products (1999-2001).
In German it is mostly dubbed by Nana Spier .
In the game Call of Duty: Black Ops she appears with the Escalation DLC as a playable character in survival mode.
In a YouTube video called “Cinderella vs. Belle: Princess Rap Battle “she played the role of Cinderella .
