history
The name of the place was in Gallo-Roman times Geniulacum or Genoliacum; In 1264 he was called Genoili, in 1371 Genoilhi.
About 100 meters below the mound of earth "Le Mouton" (probably a variant of "Motton" and thus a reference to an old moth that was erected to ward off the Normans at the end of the 9th century) two stone steles were found, one with a Latin and one with Greek inscription. The steles are now in the museum in Bourges .
